The Bicentennial Steering Committee hopes businesses, civic groups, families and even individuals consider creating an event or project in celebration of the Bicentennial. You are only limited by your imagination though all events should be culturally inclusive and projects should leave a legacy.

To Qualify for Endorsement, Projects or Events Must be: 

  • Open and accessible to the public 

  • Tied in some way to the Bicentennial

  • Financially feasible without county support

  • Achievable 

They must also meet at least one of the following recommended goals or characteristics: 

  • Culturally inclusive 

  • Creating a legacy for the future 

  • Celebratory 

  • Engaging and inspiring to youth and young adults 

  • Educational

Why Should I Request Endorsement?

Events or projects endorsed by the steering committee will receive:

  • An official letter of endorsement

  • Use of all Bicentennial logos

  • Listing on the Bicentennial website

  • Inclusion in a press release acknowledging all approved endorsements
